Away from the busy streets of much activity and noise of the township, St.Francis School is situated in the outskirts of Pithora in a conducive, relaxed ambience for moulding and shaping the young minds. In response to the repeated requests of the people around to provide English based instruction for their children the School was established in the year 2003. The School is administrated and operated by the registered society of the Medical Sisters of St.Francis of Assisi.

For the first two years our Sister Institution, Anjali Higher Secondary School served as the cradle for the students of St.Francis. The foundation stone for the two storey structure was laid in 2003 by our then General Superior, Sister Mary Ann Minor. The school was dedicated on June 15, 2006. Eventually with the number of students rising the third and fourth levels were built during the academic year 2012-2013. During the constructions Anjali Higher Secondary School opened its door once again for the St.Francis students facilitating both the schools operated on shift basis. The facility now has well furnished spacious classrooms, a rich library, subject labs, computer and language labs, digital classrooms in view of providing the students with a qualitative and innovative education.

St.Francis School is a co-educational English medium affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school procured NOC from the state board of Chhattisgarh in 2011. Presently there are above nine hundred students instructed, up to Class XII.

Drawing deep inspiration from Saint Francis of Assisi, the school’s patron, this institution strives to imbibe in the students, deep reverence for the entire human race, the nature and considering everyone and everything as one’s brother and sister.
